Help with Stacks — the app for tracking series, films and books.
Schreib uns
- Was passiert ist und was du erwartet hättest

- What happened and what you expected instead
- The steps that reproduce the behaviour
- Your device and OS version

Do I need an account?
No. Stacks works fully without signing in — every entry then stays local on your device. An account is only needed to sync your library across devices: Profile → Sign in for Cloud Sync, using email, Apple or Google.
How do I back up my library or move it to a new device?
Two ways, both under Profile:
- Profile → Backup: automatic backups, “Back up now”, and restoring the most recent backup. Restoring replaces your current data.
- Profile → Export / Import: export your library as JSON or CSV, then import the JSON file on another device.
With an account signed in, cloud sync handles the move for you.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Delete account. The account and its data are removed permanently and this cannot be undone. If you want to keep your entries, export them first under Profile → Export / Import.
I’m not getting notifications about new episodes
Check both: Profile → Notifications in the app, and the permission for Stacks in your device’s system settings. Notifications go out for series marked as active that have a known air date.
Syncing looks stuck
The time of the last sync is shown in your profile. Check your internet connection and that you’re signed in; signing out and back in restarts syncing. If it still won’t move, send a short email with the time and the entry affected.
A series, film or book has missing or wrong details
Title data comes from The Movie Database (TMDB) and Google Books. Corrections made at the source reach Stacks after a short delay. Write to us anyway — we’ll check whether the app matched the wrong entry.
The barcode scanner doesn’t recognise a book
The scanner reads ISBN barcodes. In poor light or with a damaged code, searching by title or author works better. The camera is used only on device to read the code; no photos are stored or transmitted.
